NDT Services

MAGNETIC PARTICLE INSPECTION

Supreme Gear provides complete Magnetic Particle Inspection service operations to detect surface and subsurface cracks and discontinuities. Magnetic particle testing is done by inducing a magnetic field in a ferromagnetic material and dusting the surface with iron particles (either dry or suspended in a liquid). Surface imperfections will distort the magnetic field and concentrate the iron particles near imperfections, thus indicating their presence.

In addition to our Nadcap accreditation, we are also approved a select group of aerospace prime and sub-prime contractors.

TEMPER (NITAL) ETCH INSPECTION

Supreme Gear  provides a complete Temper Etch (Nital Etch) service operations to detect localized re-tempering, re-hardening and carburization flaws, undetectable in singular hardness testing. These inspections help assure that each hardness-critical part will not be subject to premature failure under normal use.

Our temperature and fluid concentration controlled systems can accommodate parts of various sizes and configurations. In addition to our Nadcap accreditation, we are also approved a select group of aerospace prime and sub-prime contractors.
